WOMAN HERSELF 

RESPONSIBLE FOR CRIME AGAINST WOMAN

The woman herself is responsible for crime against woman because the women have forgotten the moral values at that time when the Western culture have over powered the Indian culture, said Luxmi Kant Chawla at a conference on Women Empowerment at DAV College of Education, Abohar.

 

Luxmi Kant Chawla, former health minister, Punjab said, there will no useful purpose in amendment of laws as this will not reduce the crime on women because there is a need to change the mind-set of the society.  The laws are already existing but those who are to implement it are not right as the money and politics is dominant on the laws.   The high-up families, big  business houses, film starts and TV of course are responsible for the present state of affairs of giving importance to nudity. She also said that the women should also take care of dresses.  They should live like to great women of our country while living within Indian culture. 

 

On this occasion, Prof. H.S.Walia said, women is naturally stronger than men but our society has weaken her.  The other speakers said, in case the women respect women and becomes economically strong, there is definitely going to be change in the culture of the society. 

 

At the same time, Dr.Vainta Singh, principal said, it will be too late for us, in case we wait for the change of mind of the people and there is a need to take initiative by the women itself to change its thinking and vision.
